The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Wednesday, mourned a former Nigerian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Blessing Clark, who passed on the same day at age 92.
He also condoled with the family, friends, government and people of Delta State in mourning the passing of “a great Nigerian.”
Buhari’s condolence message was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled ‘President Buhari mourns Ambassador Akporade Clark, calls him one of the nation’s best.’
President Buhari described the former Nigerian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations as one of the country’s best and brightest of career diplomats.
He said, “Every moment of his life, he dedicated to the nation. He was a visionary and an outstanding statesman who left behind indelible impressions on the hearts and minds of people across the nation and in many parts of the world. His loss will be felt near and far.”
The President also joined the family, friends, government and people of Delta State in mourning a great Nigerian; praying that “…his soul rest in peace.”
