Watford coach, Rob Edwards, has ruled out any possibility of selling Emmanuel Dennis this summer hinting that he could make his English Championship debut against Sheffield United on Monday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Despite the drop into the Championship last season, Dennis impressed at Vicarage Road after joining from Club Brugge for £3.5m last July, when he signed a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old was one of the few shining lights in a difficult season for Watford last season has been linked with several Premier League clubs like Nottingham Forest Everton, Newcastle United, West Ham and Villarreal in this transfer window having finished the season with 10 goals and six assists from 33 appearances.
Should the Nigerian seek a move from Vicarage Road, the Hornets will demand a fee in the region of around £20m.
Speaking ahead of his team’s opening game, Edwards said, “They’re (Ismaila Sarr and Emmanuel Dennis) both very good players who have been working hard, and while they’re at the club of course we’re going to use them, because they can help us. Why wouldn’t I use them?” Edwards told Watford Observer.
“We’re prepared for if they do move on, we’ve done our due diligence. If and when we need to recruit we’re ready and we will. Until then, I’ll have them to select.”
