The Peoples Democratic Party has expressed its appreciation to former Vice President Namadi Sambo for his exemplary work in nation building.
As Sambo marked his 68th birthday, the PDP described the ex-VP as an extraordinary statesman, quintessential democrat, exceptionally resourceful.
This was contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunaba, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The statement described Sambo as “an uncommon exceptional exceptional extraordinary statesman, quintessential democrat, exceptionally resourceful and highly organized leader who continues to demonstrate an uncommon commitment towards the unity, peaceful co-existence, stability and development of our nation in our mission to Rescue, Redirect and Rebuild our nation from misrule.”
According to the party, the former vice-president has over the years, as an architect, commissioner of works, transport and housing in Kaduna State, Governor of Kaduna State, vice president of Nigeria and an elder statesman, continued to be distinct as a trusted administrator and accomplished nationalist.
“As Governor of Kaduna State, he deployed his 11-Point Agenda to revamp the critical sectors, ensured security of lives and property, empowered the people and achieved unprecedented human capital and infrastructural development across the State, in line with the manifesto of the PDP.
“As Vice President, he brought his wealth of experience, loyalty and dedication to bear on the numerous successes of the President Goodluck Jonathan-led PDP administration,” it said.
In a related development the presidential candidate of the PDP, and former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, also congratulated Sambo, saying that the latter has had a dignified career in both public and private aspects.
“Even after sterling services as Kaduna State Governor and as our country’s Vice President, he continues to be deeply engaged in promoting education as a catalyst for change. Your Excellency, on behalf of my family, accept my good wishes on the occasion of your 68th birthday,” Atiku stated.
