Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has said she does not consider certain things mistakes. Rather, she sees them as an opportunity to learn.
Makinwa, who returns as the host of the second season of Showmax’s exclusive talk show, ‘The Buzz’, which is dedicated to Big Brother Naija, told Saturday Beats, “For me, it is all about doing what I have to do and in the end, it turns out alright. Even when it doesn’t turn out fine, I learn my lesson and move on, knowing that there are no mistakes in life. I believe that everything basically happens for one’s good, and one takes those experiences with one to the next level.”
Speaking on what will be different in this season of ‘The Buzz’, she said, “I love the fact that this season is very conversational, I can get guests and we can unpack moments that they were not aired, or that some people might have missed. Some unseen clips will definitely be aired and there will be discussions around the housemates and how they are moving, the dynamics of relationships and friendships, drama and gossip. Every single thing will definitely be unpacked on the show.”
Noting that the highlight of the show for her is not only the drama, she stated that she will be watching BBN with a mix of excitement and seriousness, as she will also be paying attention to discussable content from the show.
Asked if she had any regrets being the host of the last Guilder Ultimate Search reality TV show, following criticisms from some Nigerians, she said, “I think that for every new host on an existing show, there is always going to be at problem. BBN had the same issue when Ebuka came on board as everyone was used to a particular host. But, after a couple of seasons, we cannot do BBN without thinking about Ebuka. People have to be given their own time to adjust. I am most definitely still interested in hosting a show like that (GUS).”
