One male child and two others – a male adult and female adult – have been killed in multiple fatal crashes that occurred at Kula Village, in Ganjuwa Local Government Area, along Bauchi – Kano federal highway, in Bauchi State.
Eight other people sustained varying degrees of injuries in the unfortunate incident. They include five male adults and three female adults.
The incident which involved two vehicles was said to have happened on Saturday at 6.15 pm.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp in Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in the state on Sunday.
He said that the crash was caused by road traffic violations and speed violations.
“A total of 11 passengers, six male adults, one male child and four female adults, were involved in the crash.
“Before the FRSC rescue team got to the scene, men of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Kafin Madaki Division, did the rescue operation.
“They rushed the victims to the Kafin Madaki General Hospital for medical treatment where a medical doctor confirmed one male child, one male adult, and one female adult dead.
“Eight others who sustained various degrees of injuries were receiving treatment in the hospital,” he said.
“The crash involved one commercial and one private vehicle.
“The commercial vehicle is a Saloon Volkswagen Golf car, red in colour while the private vehicle is a Saloon Mercedes C230, silver in colour.
“The probable causes of the crash are Road Traffic Violation and Speed Violation,” Abdullahi said.
The FRSC boss warned drivers to be more cautious while on the road and advised them to obey road traffic rules and regulations.
