An Edo State resident, Godwin Akpaibor, has cried out over the deteriorating health of his son, Promise, currently suffering from an eye tumour.
The primary four pupil, who will turn 11 by September 2022, has battled eye pain and swelling for over two years.
Godwin, who resides in Ibillo, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo State, revealed that Promise started developing eye pains since he was nine years old.
Speaking with our correspondent on Friday, the sad father noted that the pains became worse and the eye started swelling gradually.
Godwin said, “It started two years ago. He has always complained about the eye and we got to the hospital. Before we know it, the thing (eye) started growing.
“He is not even seeing with the eye again because it has swollen up. It started two years ago.”
Godwin lamented how the family moved from one hospital to the other to find help for their son, who was always crying in pain.
“We have gone to hospitals. We went to different hospitals before they told us it will be surgically operated,” Godwin said.
Godwin revealed that the surgery will take place at a specialist hospital in Ikare, Akoko Edo.
The surgery will cost N550,000, which according to him, the family was unable to afford.
He, therefore, called on the masses to support his family and raise the amount for the surgery, to prevent a worsened condition.
