A chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Isokan Local Government Area in Osun State, Kazeem Alli, has been shot by some yet-to-be-identified assailants.
Alli, also said to be a leader of the All Progressives Congress in his local government, was reportedly shot and taken away by the attackers in Oke Alfa Area, Apomu on Saturday evening.
The suspects were said to have trailed Alli, who was said to be travelling in his car, to Oka Alfa area where he was shot.
The spokesman of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, said eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We cannot be sure of the condition of the abductee yet or say if he is alive or dead since we have not seen him,” Opalola said.
But the Media Adviser to Osun APC chairman, Kola Olabisi, gave an indication, in a statement in Osogbo, that Alli may have been murdered.
The statement read, “APC chairman, Gboyega Famodun, who was apparently disturbed, stated that the killing of the 48-year-old APC chieftain, Kazeem Alli, popularly known as Kekere Pasuma, from Ward 6 who performed actively during the last governorship election, was wicked, callous and highly condemnable”
