Deputy Director of the All Progressives Congress’ Presidential Campaign Organisation, Hanatu Musawa, on Monday passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
This is even as she described the alleged plan to remove him from office as mere social media talks.
Musawa, made the clarification when she appeared on Politics Today on Channels Television on Monday night.
She said, “We have full confidence in him and I don’t think anything is going to change in that regard.
“I think most of what you are hearing in the news is not the official position of the party but talks around social media. Most leaders of the party and even the NEC are in support of his leadership.”
Musawa’s optimism is coming ahead of the NEC meeting with the NWC members, which political pundits have predicted may decide the fate of the APC national chairman.
However, she expressed the belief that the outcome of the meeting will have little or nothing to do with Adamu’s removal.
“I think what you are going to see is a vote of confidence on the APC leadership of Senator Adamu as we have no plan to remove him ahead of the election.
“As a party, we want to go into this election united and unity comes from the top. Adamu has been able to navigate the party to where it is today,” she added.
