The Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, has approved the constitution of the State Funeral Committee and sub-committees for the burial of the late Joseph Wayas. There are 17 sub-committees whose Central Planning Committee has been inaugurated.
A statement issued, Monday, by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Christian Ita, listed the members of the committee to comprise former governors, ministers, traditional rulers, the clergy, persons from the academia, legislators, government appointees, among others.
While Kanu Agabi (SAN) is the Chairman Central Planning Committee, the state Deputy Governor, Ivara Esu, is the Alternate Chairman of the Central Planning Committee.
The state burial is tentatively fixed for the second week of October this year, according to Mr Ita.
The former Senate President, who hailed from northern Cross River State died abroad while receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
