A trailer going inward Ogun State on Long Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday caused traffic gridlock on the expressway, leaving motorists and commuters stranded.
Our correspondents gathered that the trailer driver lost control, rammed into the barricade and almost fell off the bridge.
The situation was further compounded by the ongoing road repair along OPIC on the expressway.
While the gridlock lasted, some motorists were seen finding their ways through the rough road off the expressway.
It was gathered that the trailer crashed since Monday night, damaging a part of the concrete bridge railing.
A passenger, who spoke to our The PUNCH, suggested it could have been caused by a brake failure.
He also bemoaned the development, saying that the road repair by the construction company ought to be carried out in the middle of the night rather than delaying people who had several businesses and works to attend to in the morning.
