A seven-year-old boy, Adam Afolabi, who went missing in a neighbourhood in Mushin, Lagos State, for five days, has been found in the Ojo area of the state.
PUNCH Metro had reported that Adam went missing after his elder sister, Zainab, 19, sent him on an errand to buy biscuits at a shop in their neighbourhood.
The minor was said to be on his way to buy the biscuits when three yet-to-be-identified men whisked him away to an undisclosed location.
The situation, however, threw Adam’s family into a panic and a search party was set up to locate his whereabouts.
Speaking with our correspondent on Monday, Adam’s father, Kazeem, who reunited with his son at the police station, said Adam was kidnapped by three men who bundled him into a bus.
He said the minor was later found in the Ojo area of the state roaming about the streets as he could not find his way home.
“We have found the boy. He was found in Ojo. According to him, three men kidnapped him and bundled him into a bus. He said they dropped him off at Ojo without hurting him,” Kazeem said.
On how the police found the boy, he said, “My son was taken to the police station by the Baale of the community where the kidnappers dropped him.
“I’m very grateful to The PUNCH Newspapers for the effort since my child went missing. Your platform will continue to wax strong.”
