Premier League side Southampton have now reached a full agreement with Manchester City to sign 19-year-old British-Nigerian forward Samuel Edozie, according to Italian football analyst, Fabrizio Roman.
Roman stated in a tweet that an agreement had been completed and Edozie would join the Saints, though champions Man City have a buy-back clause for Edozie as part of the deal.
Edozie signed from Millwall in July 2019 as a scholar and has impressed with his pace and trickery in his debut campaign.
Progressing to the EDS squad in 2020/21, the forward is capable of playing both on the right and left wings.
He impressed while working with the City first team during the 2021/22 pre-season, and made his senior debut in the Community Shield clash against Leicester at Wembley in August 2021.
Edozie made 15 appearances across the Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League followed in the 2021/22 season, and was close to joining Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in July, but Southampton have now moved ahead to secure the teenager’s services.
Edozie won the Premier League 2 title with Man City’s U-23 team last season and has also gained Champions League experience at youth level.
