The African Democratic Congress has alerted its members on the unauthorised formation of a campaign team for the suspended presidential candidate at state branches of the party.
This was disclosed by the National Chairman, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, and Secretary, Alhaji Said Abdullahi, on behalf of the National Working Committee of the party through a statement signed by the duo in Abuja.
They cautioned members that a Rescue Mission of Dumebi-Ahmed Campaign Team in state branches have been formed, regardless of the formal suspension of Dumebi Kachikwu as the presidential fandidate of the party.
The party on September 3, 2022 announced the suspension of the 2023 presidential candidate, who was accused of anti-party behaviours through a statement by the party’s Deputy National Chairman Politics, Bamidele Ajadi.
The NWC, therefore, charged all members countrywide to ignore any of such campaign-formed lists, as not consented to by the NWC.
Furthermore, it requested all members, whose names emerge on such campaign lists, including candidates, to take immediate steps in their respective states.
The statement partly read, “It called on the members to unlink themselves with the suspended presidential candidate at once saying that there are consequences of failure to comply with the directive against such members of their representatives.
“It has come to the notice of the National Working Committee NWC of ADC that Rescue Mission of Dumebi-Ahmed Campaign Team State Chapters has been constituted, despite the formal suspension of Mr Dumebi Kachikwu, the Presidential Candidate of ADC.
“The NWC, therefore, called on all ADC members nationwide to disregard any of such campaign constituted lists, as unauthorized by the NWC and further requested all faithful ADC members whose names appeared on such campaign lists, including candidates, to take immediate steps in their respective States.
“They are to disassociate themselves with Mr Dumebi Kachikwu forthwith. Failure of this, immediate appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken against such persons or their representatives.”
