Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory Command, have arrested five suspects in connection with the Tuesday murder of Sadiq Gaya, the son of a Kano State lawmaker, Senator Kabiru Gaya, in Abuja.
Impeccable sources confirmed to our correspondent that Sadiq’s murder was masterminded by a friend over the sum of N3.5 million.
The deceased’s father, Gaya, 70-year-old, representing Kano South Senatorial District, has served in the Nigerian Senate since 2007, and he is the incumbent Chairman, Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The FCT Police Command’s Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirming the incident, noted that five suspects, in connection with the murder, were in police custody as investigation continued.
“Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and investigation is ongoing. The outcome of the investigation will be communicated subsequently,” Adeh said.
The deceased, Sadiq, was a legal practitioner and staff of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria.
