Kidnapped Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue, has regained freedom from his abductors, after spending three days in the kidnappers den.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Chief Ozue was freed by his abductors late Wednesday night.
Sources said that the family of the abducted Council Vice Chairman reportedly paid N7 million to secure his release from the gunmen who ambushed and kidnapped him on Sunday, along Iwhre-Ovie/Oviri-Ogor Road in Ogor Town, off Ughelli/Evwreni section of the East-West Road.
Family sources confirmed the release of the Isoko North Vice Chairman who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Elated Chief Ozue also took to his Facebook page on Thursday morning to confirm that he had regained his freedom from his abductors.
While noting that he was kidnapped by suspected Hausa bandits operating in the area, he gave thanks to God for his release.
He wrote “I regained my freedom from dare devil extremists, Hausas leaving within us, now turned Boko Haram in our communities. Truly they are here. I will do documentary on my 4 days in captivity”.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the freedom of the Local Government Council Vice Chairman from the kidnappers den.
The PPRO told our correspondent that Chief Ozue has already reunited with his family.
