The Chairman, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Mr. Segun Oladitan, has said the body would abide by the decision of the court regarding the upcoming local government election in the state.
The commission had scheduled October 15, for the conduct of the local government election in the state, but a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, had allowed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, to amend its suit challenging the conduct of the poll, a development that raised concern over the election.
Oladitan, however, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 5-day training for electoral and assistant electoral officers in Osogbo, on Friday, said the commission was not bordered by the litigations against the poll.
“When a warrior goes to war, he faces what he went there for. When we get to that river we will learn how to cross it.
“One thing I can assure is that the commission is going to abide by any pronouncement of a court of competent jurisdiction and we are not going to move away from it but we are fully prepared,” Oladitan said.
