The First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; a prominent fashion designer, Abah Folawiyo; and popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi; were some of the notable personalities that celebrated with Pastor Ifeanyi— the wife of the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Lekki, Lagos, Paul Adefarasin— who marked her 50th birthday on Friday, September 16, 2022.
The event, which was held at her church, had a line-up of several activities to celebrate the day. A popular gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, led the praise and worship session. There was also a documentary that detailed the life of the birthday girl, and many of her loved ones and associates spoke highly of her, especially for her commitment to the church.
At a point during the ceremony, Ifeanyi knelt before some pastors of the church, including her husband, as they prayed for her. A popular American preacher, Bishop Thomas Jakes, who attended the event virtually, also said, “We pray for Ifeanyi Adefarasin today. You are gifted in your own rights. We are following you as you grow and we know that House on the Rock is in a better place with you. Happy 50th birthday to you. God bless you.”
On her part, Ifeanyi thanked God, her husband and children for being there for her. She said, “I want to thank the Almighty. Without Him, I am nothing. We don’t look like what we have been through because God chose to cover us. I would like to thank the love of my life. I have grown up under his care. He has groomed me to what I am today.
“Thank you for your patience and for holding my hand. Indeed, you have been my covering. Above all, Pastor Paul, one of the most attractive things about you is (the presence of) God around you. To my amazing children, you are the reminder of God’s blessings to me. You are so special and I am proud to be your mum. I thank God for who you are in my life. God bless you.”
Other guests at the event include Paul’s elder brother and General Overseer of Guiding Light Assembly, Pastor Wale Adefarasin; style icon, Nkiru Anumudu; Maiden Ibru, Derin Agbaje, Heather Onoh, and media personality, Ik Osakioduwa.
