Three men, Bankole Ibrahim, Abu Amodu, and Bakare Ali, were arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing the property of one Olalekan Adebiyi worth N155,000 in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The trio, who were charged with two counts by the Nigerian Police, were arraigned before Magistrate F.M Onamusi.
They were said, with others now at large, to have conspired amongst themselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
According to the police, on August 25, 2022, around 12.55pm, at No.8, Oduduwa Street, in Ikeja, Lagos, the defendants with others at large stole pressing iron and 25 gallons of 25 litres of diesel from the complainant.
The charges read in part, “That you, Bankole Ibrahini, Abu Amodu, Bakare Ali, and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal two pressing iron valued N105,000 and 25 gallons of 25 litres of diesel valued N500,000, properties of one Olalekan Adebiyi, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges read against them.
However, Magistrate Onamusi further adjourned the matter until September 29, 2022.
