The Chairman of the party in the state, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, stated this on Monday, after hosting the party’s candidates in the state to a meeting in his country home in Amaedukwu Nkpa, in Bende Local Government Area of the state, assuring that APC will provide competence based and sincere leadership in the state if it wins the 2023 governorship election in Abia.
“Our focus is to rescue and develop the state after 24 years of the Peoples Democratic Party’s painful, misrule, highlighted by infrastructure decay, high unemployment, and poor quality service delivery,” he said.
Ononogbu said the meeting was aimed at preparing the party for the campaigns after the party’s town hall and stakeholders meeting and consultations across the 24 constituencies of the state.
According to him, “It is also an opportunity for us to x-ray our conversations, interactions with the constituents and performances during the meetings with a view to strengthening our campaign strategies.”
He explained that the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Ikechi Emenike and other candidates of the party, remain unequalled in terms of capacity and experience, adding that, “there could not have been better candidates in all the parties.”
“This is why people like us, who are very proud and conscious of our integrity, have left our comfort zones to join them to rescue the state. I am a finance major and know what can be done to move the state forward.”
The chairman, therefore, lauded the House of Representatives Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, and the Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Emeka Atuma, for, “sharing their experiences on how to win an election and protect the result.”
Speaking to newsmen, the Arochukwu Constituency member, at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Ukoha, described the meeting as very timely, adding, “We have been further energised and focused for the battle.”
