The Lagos State Government has said its partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund has upgraded education to enhance learning and enrich students’ creativity.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, disclosed this during the formal inauguration of the Nigeria Learning Passport, a digital learning platform, conceived in collaboration with UNICEF in Ikeja.
She said, “This initiative reaffirms that the present administration will continue to foster essential partnerships to upscale the implementation of the third pillar of the THEMES agenda, education, and technology, to ultimately prepare a world-class multi-skilled workforce for global recognition. This will enhance socio-economic growth and also serve as an intervention to bridge the knowledge gap using technology to enrich creativity.
“The Nigeria Learning Passport is another solution initiative geared toward closing the learning gap with a focus on equitable, quality, and flexible learning. It enables access to education for children, youth, and teachers through the use of portable digital devices.”
The Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Nigeria, Celine Lafoucriere, said, “At UNICEF, we remain resolute to achieving the sustainable development goal on education by complementing the federating states to accelerate education reforms.”
