A former senator who represented Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Rilwan Akanbi, has called on eligible voters in Nigeria, especially south-westerners to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, saying he is the only capable and charismatic candidate that this moment calls for in Nigeria.
Akanbi, in a statement on Friday, maintained that Tinubu had a Midas touch and statesmanlike solutions to the array of challenges facing Nigeria as a nation.
Akanbi, who is the initiator of the Coalition Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stated, “In South-West Nigeria, we don’t need just a mere winning but we need a landslide victory. In terms of voting strengths, according to the statistical data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, after the North-West, it is the South-West.
“Meanwhile, with the results of the previous elections, our turnouts used to be low compared to the numbers of our registered voters in the South-West, but this time around, I want people to go out and vote for Tinubu.”
He reiterated that the voters in the South-West needed to come together to resolve personal differences to elect “a man with Midas touch.
On being a detribalised Nigerian, the lawmaker described Tinubu as a man of the people. “Immediately, after the APC presidential primary, our leader, Tinubu swang into action and he reached out to all aspirants. He’s been reaching out and meeting people, directly and indirectly, irrespective of their political parties. So, this indicates that Asiwaju is undisputed unifier,” he said.
