A hair brand in Nigeria, Lush Hair, has recorded the feat of producing the longest ponytail braid of 105 feet and two inches.
The event took place at the Ikeja City Mall with the collective effort of interested fans who participated to produce the longest ponytail braid.
A statement made available to The PUNCH on Friday explained that fans took turns to braid the hair of a female model in the longest braid challenge. It added that they eventually stopped at 105ft by two inches.
The statement added that the idea was initiated after the ‘Big Brother Nigeria’ held a competition with the members of the House to make a 36ft long braid.
“On the day of the task, the hashtag #FlauntYourLush trended actively on Twitter, while on the street of Lagos, giant-looking mannequins were seen standing at different high traffic locations around Lagos to create awareness towards the Lush Hair/BBN task to urge fans to join the brand the day after, at Ikeja City Mall so as to collectively surpass the effort of the winner of the longest braid challenge in the BBN house,” it read.
Brand Manager, Lush Hair, Mrs Ritambhara Kakkar, said, “Achieving this feat is quite unbelievable and we appreciate fans who have come out en masse to demonstrate support and loyalty to the brand. Being the official Hair sponsor of Big Brother season 7, we decided on a better strategy that we could adopt in carrying our fans and other BBN enthusiast along in the fun and entertainment happening in the house, which was what birthed the Longest Braids Challenge execution in and outside the Big Brother house.”
The winners and participants of the challenge were awarded with goody bags and were also given the opportunity to have their names written on the Lush Hair Hall of Fame.
