Gifted gospel singer, Lekan Remilekun-Amos, otherwise called Omo Dafidi, has said the 21st remembrance of his famed gospel musician father, Dr. Remilekun Amos, will hold in his hometown, Ilaje, Ondo State, in celebration of his ideals and positive impacts on lives.
Speaking with Sunday Scoop during a telephone interview on Saturday, Remilekun-Amos, who is a wave-making Zion singer from the riverine area of Ondo State, stated that his father’s musical impact and uniqueness inspired the shift of the remembrance venue to Ilaje.
He said, “Last year, we held the 20th remembrance for my father in Lagos State. The event drew many gospel singers who thrilled the attendees with distinct performances in honour of the memory of our great father. It was an unforgettable event which left sweet memories for participants and guests. But having carefully considered many things, we intend to hold the programme billed for sometime in November this year in his hometown, Ilaje. It will feature several gospel stars. We will celebrate his dynamism, talent, how he used soul-lifting songs to return many to God and impact lives positively.’’
On his latest album, Oluwa De (The Lord arrived), the singer described the six-track album as a testimony of God’s love, reverence of His majesty and edification to people to reconcile with God and obey His commandments.
The singer is also excited about his debut at the forthcoming sixth edition of the Luli Concert; an interdenominational event for Christians slated for October 7 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. He said, “At the event which will have many popular gospel singers in attendance, we will pray and praise God for His abundant love and favours on us. The concert was conceived by the organisers as a medium to promote worship, God’s word and intercede for our beloved country through spirit-lifting praises.’’
