The International Friendship League has said that the biography of the founder of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi will draw many people to Christ.
The group stated this at a book launch titled ‘Kumuyi: Defender of the Faith’ in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The IFL Chairman, Dr. Anselm Egwunatum said the book is a biography of Kumuyi from his birth till date.
He said, “Books written about godly characters have inspired many readers and have drawn them to Christ through God’s saving grace”
Speaking at the book launch, the General Overseer, Deeper Life Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi represented by the State Overseer Delta North, Pastor Godwin Osagbohien described Kumuyi as a wise man who influence people’s lives positively in Godly way.
“I have been with Kumuyi for the past 40 years, God has used him mighty from the beginning till date. So, by reading this book, people can know more about him and draw close to God”
Also, the state Overseer, Delta South, Pastor Pius Idume noted that the book had launched at the headquarters Lagos but taking the launching to various states.
He said the book was first launched at the headquarters in Lagos and hence launching it in all states of Nigeria, describing Kumuyi as a national figure. “The book is all about Kumuyi from birth”
In his remark, one of the editorial board members of the book, Prof. Ope-Davis Babatunde said one of their initial challenges writing the book was Kumuyi never accepted for them to write about his biography because of his simplicity.
He urged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of reading either the hardcopy or electronically, saying that the books were also a way of bringing back our reading culture.
