Oluremi Tinubu, the senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District and wife of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, said that a Tinubu-Shettima presidency would be the “best option” for Nigerian women.
“The track record of both men (Tinubu and Kashim Shettima) are gender-sensitive,” Mrs Tinubu claimed at the inauguration of the Tinubu-Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Team at the State House Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
She also called on the over 1,250 women in attendance to mobilise votes for the APC standard bearer in their various constituencies.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, is attending the event.
Also present are the presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu; his running mate, Shettima; National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; First Lady Aisha Buhari; wives of the candidate and his running mate, Senator Remi Tinubu and Mrs Nana Shettima.
Others are the Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Simon Lalong; Governors Hope Uzodinma; Abdullahi Ganduje; Women Leader of the APC, Beta Edu; Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, other leaders of the party; National Assembly members and others.
Also in attendance is Veteran Nollywood actress, Mrs Joke Silva, whose public support for the APC presidential candidate has generated mixed reactions on social media recently.
