…Says he was an advocate of peace
Chairman, Imo State Council of Elders and Chancellor, Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, HRM Eze (Dr) Cletus Ilomuanya has described the death of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Ebere Udeagu, as a great loss to the people of the state.
He said that Udeagu was a patriot and statesman, who served the state selflessly and patriotically.
In a statement issued in Owerri, the Obi of Obinugwu posited, “I wish to commiserate with the entire family of His Excellency, Ebere Udeagu (Chinaemeze), former Deputy Governor of Imo State, on his fortunate demise. His exit is indeed, very painful.”
Eze Ilomuanya recalled that “while alive, Udeagu was an exemplary person and a known advocate of peace. He served Imo State selflessly as Deputy Governor and left worthy legacies for which posterity would always remember him. He was by all indices, a pride not only to his family, friends, and associates but also to Imo State as a whole.”
While sympathizing with the bereaved Udeagu family, the monarch, who is also the Chairman of the Igbo Traditional Rulers Forum advised them to keep faith in God.
“I urge the Udeagu family to take heart and bear this great loss with equanimity. We will always remember him in our prayers because we share in your grief,” he stated.
“On behalf of my family, Obinugwu kingdom, and the Imo State Council of Elders, I pray that God Almighty would grant His Excellency, Ebere Udeagu, an eternal peaceful repose in His bosom.
“Adieu, great statesman and patriot,” the statement concluded.
