Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman, has aimed a dig at Serie A referee Daniele Doveri, after helping the Black and Blues to victory over Sassuolo last weekend, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian grabbed the winner for Atalanta just a minute to the restart of the game as they came from a goal deficit to earn a 2-1 victory at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo in the Italian Serie A.
The winger grabbed his fourth goal of the season and third in a row, since joining the Italians from Leipzig last summer.
Lookman had earlier scored in consecutive games against Fiorentina and Udinese.
Known for his trademark celebration by indicating an eyeglass frame with his fingers over his eyes, ‘a look-man stance’, when celebrating his goals, the former Leicester forward was strangely shown a yellow card by Doveri for his celebration in Atalanta’s 2-2 draw at Udinese on October 9.
And the former Everton man was genuinely surprised to receive a caution for a celebratory style he had employed without trouble during his spells in Germany and England.
Not deterred by the booking, the 24-year-old once celebrated with his trademark fingers for eyeglasses after scoring against Sassuolo on Saturday.
Interestingly, referee Matteo Marcenaro, who was in charge of the game, did not show the forward a yellow card for the celebration.
Lookman then took to his Twitter account after the game, writing, “Luckily no yellow card this time plus three points.”
Lookman has scored four goals with an assist since joining Atalanta.
