Barely a month after he was announced as consultant coach of Zambia Super League club, Zanaco FC, former Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Amuneke, has rated football in the country high, The PUNCH reports.
Amuneke was unveiled alongside his assistant, Emeka Amadi, a former Nigeria youth international.
The former African Player of The Year has managed clubs in Nigeria, Sudan and Egypt and was also once in charge of the Nigeria U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets and the Tanzania national team.
“It is my first time coaching in Zambia. I am bringing my experience to the Zambian league and hoping to pass it on to the coaches here and hoping they grow more than myself.
“I will be happy to see the players that will pass under me become better,” he told the club’s official website during his unveiling.
However, less than a month since joining Zanaco, the 51-year-old says he is impressed with football in the country.
“Zambia is really a fine place and work is going on well,” he said.
“The league is great and very interesting. In terms of facilities, it is great because most teams have their own stadiums and training pitches.”
