With the EuroLeague Women’s new season set to get underway, basketball world governing body, FIBA, has listed some of the top players to look out for, with Nigeria’s Evelyn Akhator making the ranks, PUNCH Sport Extra reports.
EuroLeague Women is the premier women’s basketball competition in Europe, featuring the top 16 teams from the continent and the world’s best players.
The regular season is set to commence on Wednesday and all clubs have been active during the off-season looking to bolster their rosters for the new season.
During the off-season, Basket Landes, French champions in 2021, announced the signing of the Nigerian.
Highlighting some of the Top 10 players that could make a huge impact when the season begins on Wednesday, FIBA named the Nigerian among those they rated highly ahead of the competition.
“Basket Landes have been punching way above their weight in EuroLeague Women and if they want to continue to over-achieving then maybe Akhator will keep their streak going,” the website reads.
