Clubs in the English Premier League are still very much keen on signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen next summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Following the 23-year-old’s impressive form, which has seen him score three goals in his last three games, with two of those turning out to be match-winners, there is an increased demand for the Napoli forward and Spurs joined their EPL counterparts in scouting the striker.
According to Tuttosport, Napoli may not be able to keep Osimhen in Naples beyond this season with the persistence coming from the EPL suitors, who seem undeterred by the €100m price tag placed on the Nigeria international.
The Partenopei paid €70m to bring Osimhen to Italy from French club Lille in 2020, making him their most expensive signing in history, therefore, they would not be willing to part ways with their valuable asset for less than the asking price.
The forward has enjoyed a positive start to the 2022/23 campaign with Serie A giants Napoli, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances.
Osimhen’s four goals in seven Serie A games have helped the Partenopei storm to the top of the table as they aim to maintain a charge for the Scudetto, although he missed six weeks of the season with a hamstring injury.
