Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Thursday celebrated his 55th birthday with the inauguration of the 2.5km Njoborre access road which he earlier promised residents of Vunoklang, situated on the banks of the Benue River in the state.
Fintiri, who acknowledged the completion of the 2.5km road in line with the eight-month dateline set in the contract, said the actualisation of the project aligned with his administration’s plan to provide a critical infrastructure where necessary to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
Residents, who welcomed the completion of the road project, said the road made the impact of the recent flood disaster less felt in the areas because those moving to higher grounds could easily commute on the new road.
Fintiri, who thanked the residents for their support and prayers, acknowledged the inauguration of the road project as a birthday gift to himself because of its significance to residents.
In their separate remarks at the event, the state deputy governor, Chief Crowther Seth; and the state Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku, lauded the giant stride of the administration in bridging decades of infrastructural decay and neglect.
