Striker, Terem Moffi is poised to return to action on Sunday (today) after being listed in Lorient’s match day squad to face OGC Nice, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
His return also comes as a timely boost to Nigeria who will face Costa Rica and Portugal next month in international friendlies.
Moffi had suffered an ankle injury in the 10th minute of Lorient’s goalless draw with Stade de Reims on October 15 and managed to play through the pain barrier before he was replaced midway through the first half.
The 23-year-old Moffi did not train fully with his teammates this week, so it remains to be seen whether or not Lorient manager Régis Le Bris will give minutes to the Nigeria international in Sunday evening’s clash at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir.
Moffi has been Lorient’s standout player this season, leading the scorers chat with eight goals – the fourth highest in the division behind PSG duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, and Lille’s Jonathan David.
He has also impressed on the international stage with three goals in his last two games for the Super Eagles, a brace against São Tomé and Príncipe followed by his strike in last month’s friendly against Algeria.
