Two men, Victor Adams and Bolaji Adebayo, were on Tuesday arraigned before a Lagos Magistrates’ Court in Ojo, for allegedly attempting to sodomise a man.
Adams, 25, and Adebayo, 27, were charged with conspiracy and unlawful detention with intent to commit indecent assault.
During their arraignment before Magistrate L. J. K. Layeni, the prosecution counsel, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on October 31, 2022.
He said the incident took place on Love Estate, Iba Town, Ojo, Lagos.
Uche alleged that the defendants detained the nominal complainant, Ayobami Kolade, with a plan to have sex with him against his will.
The prosecution said the complainant raised the alarm for help when he discovered their intention.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes sections 144 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them by the police.
Magistrate Layeni adjourned the case till December 9 for legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
