The Spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Okpe said the accident happened around Arepo Bus Stop at about 1:10pm.
According to Okpe, the Lexus car rammed into two Bajaj motorcycles with registration numbers FFF617 QM and LAR489VY.
Okpe said a total of eight men were involved in the accident.
She said, “Six persons were injured, one person unhurt and unfortunately, one person was killed.”
She added that the suspected causes of the crash were route violation and speeding, which she said led to loss of control on the part of the Lexus car as it rammed into the motorcycles.
She explained that the injured victims were taken to Emergency Hospital, Ojota and Real Divine Touch Hospital, Ibafo, for medical attention, adding the dead body was deposited at Divine Touch Hospital morgue.
Okpe said the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, Ahmed Umar, described the crash as one that could be averted if rules and regulations were properly obeyed.
Umar also commiserated with the families of the victims, advising motorists to always consider other road users.
