Two men, Obinna Okeke and Adekola Olushola, have been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing and dismantling a truck valued at N9.5m.
The defendants were arraigned on four counts of conspiracy, stealing and possession of dismantled parts.
The police prosecutor, Cyril Ajifor, told the court that the accused committed the crime on April 20 at FESTAC Town, Lagos State.
The charges read in part, “That you, Obinna Okeke, Adekola Olushola, and others still at large, on or before August 20 at FESTAC Town area Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony, to wit; stealing/ dismantling of Mack truck with registration number XW 763 MUS, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Linda Balogun, granted them bail in the sum of N2m each with two responsible sureties each in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till December 16, 2022, for mention.
