Disc jockey and singer, Florence Otedola, aka Cuppy, clocked 30 years old on Friday, November 11, 2022, and contrary to what some people had expected, she decided not to throw any party to mark the day.
Cuppy, who is one of the daughters of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, however noted that she is grateful to God for all she has been able to achieve so far.
She wrote on social media, “Yes, Lord, you did it again. You gave me another year. Happy 30th birthday to me!
“Earlier this year, I decided that I wouldn’t do some silly lavish cuppy party but instead, enter my new age in prayer and surrounded by family only.
“For once, I am going to clap for myself and say I am so proud of all I have accomplished and so excited for the joy my 30s will bring.
“Happy birthday, incredible Cuppy, ME!”
Recall that just last week, Cuppy joined the rest of her family to celebrate her father’s 60thh birthday on the world’s largest yacht. As a matter of fact, the family is still cruising the high seas.
As a DJ, Cuppy has played at a number of notable events such as MTV Africa Music Awards (South Africa), Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball (United Kingdom), and the Financial Times Business of Luxury Summit (Mexico).
In her singing career, she has made music with artistes such as Tekno, Rema, Fireboy DML, Teni, Sarkodie, Skuki and Zlatan.
Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she is also a philanthropist and has demonstrated her zeal for helping the underprivileged. Through her Cuppy Foundation, she has partnered with Save The Children UK, and has donated a lot of money to several charities across Nigeria since 2021.
