The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said improved private sector participation will create more jobs for youths and boost the state’s economy.
The governor disclosed this, according to a statement on Monday, at the end of the 2022 state international trade fair held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Jaji, noted that the trade fair provided another opportunity to showcase investment opportunities his administration has achieved as part of plans to improve the state’s economic status.
He said, “So far, our administration has done a lot to better the business environment through the implementation of business-friendly policies, ease of doing business, incentives, and our unrelenting commitment to infrastructural development and renewal.
“The realities of the time have placed on us the responsibility of creating and harnessing opportunities through improved private sector participation to accelerate economic growth, create more jobs for our teeming youths and enhance our revenue generating capacity.”
The state Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr Mrs Lola Akande, stated that the administration would continue to facilitate an enabling business environment for all.
“The Sanwo-Olu administration continues to maintain the status of a committed business crusader, adopting intentional policies and steady focus to encourage entrepreneurs in line with global best practices and it is also creating public values for entrepreneurs in an environment that is becoming more unstable, uncertain, complex and ambiguous due to world economic challenges,” she said.
