The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration would partner with the French business community in the gaming industry.
The governor disclosed this, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, on Tuesday, when he met with the members of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee at the state house in Marina, Lagos
Sanwo-Olu told the French parliamentarians led by Senator Bernard Fournier on a working visit to Nigeria that bilateral agreements with the state had recorded progress.
He said, “We are happy with the kind of relationship we currently have with the French business community. We have been making giant leap forward in our relationship and we are ready to do a lot more, especially in the transportation sector where we currently have partnership with French firms.
“Lagos also recently sealed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French government on e-sport. I am delighted to share progress in this regard; we have some representatives of the state government currently in Paris to further open more opportunities in the gaming sector as outlined in the agreement.”
In his response, Fournier said, “We will strengthen the agency to raise its contribution to the development of efficient and sustainable transport infrastructure. We will be ready to do better in other areas of partnership, including agro-allied.”
