Reno Omokri
Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has taken a swipe at Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate over a statement he made in Rivers state while commissioning a project.
Recall that Obi had appealed to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to allow him to win the state in the presidential election.
Omokri said Peter Obi only cares about himself, not his party.
He assured the governor that Labour Party would support the PDP in the governorship election in the state.
Obi made the appeal in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Thursday.
The former Anambra State governor vowed never to challenge Wike over the governorship seat in the state, but Governor Wike should also leave the federal election for him.
He promised to adequately protect the interest of Rivers State when elected as president.
Reacting, Omokri took to Instagram to write: ‘‘I hope the Labour Party heard what Peter Obi said in Port Harcourt about the PDP and its gubernatorial candidate. Obi asked Rivers residents to vote PDP for Governor and vote him for President.
You see, Obi does not care about Labour. He cares only about himself! Imagine that you are the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate. How would you feel, after spending money and resources to campaign for yourself and Obi, to hear the same Obi bargain away your position for his own personal benefit? And this is a man who said it is the people who are his structure. Now, he is appealing to Wike! How is Obi different from your regular desperate politician? ”
