Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, has been adjudged the player with the most headers in all of Europe’s major leagues in the last three seasons, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 28-year-old striker who is currently the leading scorer in the Belgian topflight league with 13 goals from 14 matches played so far this season has netted 82 goals in 127 matches in all competitions for Genk since he arrived three years ago scoring 24 of them with his head.
This amazing statistic makes him the leader in header goals in all European top five leagues according to playmakerstats.
Onuachu demonstrated his affinity for scoring header goals after he scored twice with his head for KRC Genk in their penultimate league game against Sporting Charleroi on November 4. which ended 4-1.
The Eagles striker scored all four goals equaling Wesley Sonck’s feat set against Excelsior 19 years ago.
The Nigerian striker leads this list with 24 goals, two more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 22, and four more than Karim Benzema who has scored 17 headers.
Also, the former Midtjylland star has scored 66 league goals since the 2020/21 season placing him in the top three in Europe.
Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski tops this chart with 89 goals while Manchester City’s Erling Haaland precedes him with 67 goals.
Kylian Mbappe and Ciro Immobile complete the top five having scored 60 goals each.
