According to Napoli sporting director, Peppe Cannella, the asking price for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has now risen above €100m, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
During the summer transfer window, the Serie A giants placed an asking price of €100m on the 23-year-old amid a slew of transfer interest from European giants including Bayern Munich, Manchester United and PSG.
However, Cannella’s comments as printed by Italian publication Calcionapoli suggests that Napoli may demand a higher price for their star forward.
When asked how much Osimhen is worth, he said, “It’s an important question, but based on my experience it’s difficult to really evaluate a player. The price is given by the request. If a team like PSG or someone similar asks you for it, the figure exceeds €100m.”
According to Italian publication, Il Mattino, offers have already started pouring in for Osimhen and teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Both players who have played an instrumental role in the team’s successes this season.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention of losing the pair and won’t listen to any offers in January.
Osimhen emerged as the best young player of the year in 2022, winning the glamorous 2022 Globe Soccer Awards on Thursday beating Gavi and Valverde to the award.
The 23-year-old Napolis striker, who joined the Serie A leaders for a reported €75m fee in September 2020, has been in the form of his life and has been rated Napoli’s best player of the season and perhaps one of the best in the Serie A.
