Super Falcons forward, Desire Oparanozie, has expressed pride after her Chinese club, Wuhan Jianghan FC clinched the Super league title on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigeria international joined the Chinese Super League side last summer from French Women League side, Dijon.
Oparanozie played an active role for the Chinese side in their run to the title this season as Wuhan finished on top of the table despite losing the final game of the season.
Jiangsu Wuxi defeated Oparanozie’s Wuhan in the final game by a lone goal but the points acquired in the previous games were enough to hand them the title.
“Behold your Chinese Women’s Super League Champion What A Year! Proud,” she wrote on Twitter.
Liu Lin’s side won the title for the third time in a row as they finished top of the table with 45 points from 18 matches. Jiangsu Suning came second with 39 points.
They won 15 matches, losing only three throughout the entire campaign.
Malawi’s Temwa Chamwinga is the other African in their squad.
