In an interview with our correspondent, Afeezee said, “The music industry in Nigeria is doing well with so many success stories of the rise of artists from grass to grace.
“However, more work still needs to be done in terms of contracts and the legal side of the business.
“Labels should imbibe the principles of fairness, equity, and justice in treating upcoming artists.
“Up-and-coming artistes should also find time to learn the business aspects of music creation, not just music. Furthermore, there should be the development or adoption of technologies that connect creatives and help them manage their day-to-day activities.”
Afeezee, who recently released his debut extended play, Humble Beginning, stated that he was inspired by his personal struggles.
“My latest EP was inspired by my personal struggles and that of society. I’ve been writing songs actively since 2015, but I just got the opportunity to produce my songs to make tracks,” he said.
The six-track EP which is available on all streaming platforms includes “great songs with various blends of instrumentation to keep you entertained and inspired,” Afeezee added.
