The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, is one man who has severally demonstrated that he understands the language of the youth, and can relate with everything happening around him.
On many occasions, Osinbajo has identified with youths, and they have, in-turn, never failed to support him. He has been known to encourage young Nigerians to get gainfully involved in different spheres of human endeavours, including politics, to bring about national development.
He has also given many youths platforms to advertise their competencies, while invalidating arguments put up by those who deride young people.
During the week, Osinbajo renewed his bond with the youth as he gave a rousing speech at the United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s global conference held in Iganmu, Lagos State. While giving his remarks, the former professor of law made his points by singing Kizz Daniel’s hit song, Buga, and Asake’s Organise.
Video clips of his speech expectedly went viral on social media, with many Nigerians applauding him for being in tune with current trends.
An Instagram user, @munaedein, wrote, “Sir, you tried. At least, it shows you are following the trend of the youths in Nigeria, and you appreciate the entertainment industry for what they do, and how they represent the country.”
Another commentator, @aiadelekan, wrote, “You spoke in the language of the Nigerian youths. Our creative industry will continue to thrive. God bless you, sir.”
@ayo_ade2 added, “Boss, we love the way you speak in the language we, the youths, understand.”
