Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, is excited to be part of FIFA Technical Experts for the World Cup in Qatar alongside ex-Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and four other legends.
FIFA in October appointed the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder as a technical expert for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which kicks off today in Qatar and runs till December 18.
Oliseh will be one of Nigeria’s representatives at the World Cup despite the Eagles’ failure to qualify for the world’s biggest football event in Qatar.
The 48-year-old took to his Twitter account to unveil the photos of the FIFA Technical Experts for the World Cup in Qatar.
“Meet the 6 Technical Experts in Qatar, assembled by FIFA Worldwide to bring you Enhanced Football Intelligence (EFI’S) of every game under the leadership of “sir” Arsene Wenger; (Jurgen) Klinsmann, (Alberto) Zaccheroni, Cha Bum-kun, Oliseh, (Faryd) Mondragon and (Andrés González Jaen) Zubi. You can get live podcasts after each game from FIFA.”
Oliseh’s task will include analysing matches, pinpointing technical excellence and recording the latest advances and developments in the games.
Oliseh played for nine years across different age-grade teams of the Nigerian national set-up. He was part of the Nigerian U-23 team that won a gold medal in the football event at the Atlanta ‘96 Olympics.
The ex-midfielder was also a member of the Eagles side that won the 1994 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia he also featured for Nigeria at two World Cups.
Between 2015 and 2016, he was appointed coach of the Super Eagles.
