The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Gboyega Famoodun, on Monday, emerged the new Owa of Igbajo.
Famoodun, it was gathered, was elected by kingmakers and the election was ratified by the State Executive Council.
With his appointment, Famoodun will succeed Oba Olufemi Fasade, who died in December 2020.
The father of the Owa-Elect, Oba Adelani Famoodun, occupied the throne before late Oba Fasade.
A former Osun State Commissioner for Information, who is also an indigene of Igbajo, Sunday Akere, confirmed Famoodun’s election by the kingmakers and his appointment by the state government.
The Osun state Government, on Monday, confirmed the development in a statement made available to newsmen by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, after Monday’s State Executive Council meeting.
