A woman, Blessing Eno, has been arrested for allegedly beheading her 11-month-old son at Ugep community, in the Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that a mob was about to lynch Eno for perpetrating the crime when the police intervened and rescued her.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, said Eno had been arrested.
“Investigation is on to ascertain the reason for her action. But what we heard is that she is mentally deranged,” Ugbo said.
