An actress and media personality, Destiny Amaka, has said that being outspoken about sex does not make a woman a prostitute.
Reacting to the notion held by some people that any lady who is outspoken about sexual matters is promiscuous, she told Saturday Beats, “I stopped listening to people because it wasn’t allowing me to focus on what I needed to do. It is not everybody that would like what one does. However, one must always be true to oneself. At a point, it felt like I was like restricting myself, and I was not feeling free. I know I am not a prostitute, and I also know I that had beautiful home training. Every day, I wake up to see messages of the same people that are bashing me, asking for my help. That made me know that some people are hypocrites.
“I counsel people on issues that have to do with sexual intimacy. It is actually an area that is not given enough attention. There are many people out there who are not satisfying their spouses. And things like that contribute to the break-up of marriages.”
Amaka also stated that it was unfortunate that many people go into relationships these days for what they can gain. She had made a post on social media some weeks ago, urging people not to have a relationship with anyone that does not give them butterflies in their stomachs. Many of the comments stated that she was talking that way because she was comfortable.
She said, “It is sad that these days, we seem to be breeding more of prostitutes and pimps. Most of the comments I saw said I was talking that way because I’m rich. On the day I made that post, I was thinking of the old school type of love. I forgot that I was in a country where many people go into relationships for what they can gain, and not because of love.”
