A social media comedian, Isaac Aloma, aka Zicsaloma, has expressed dismay that the police seem to be aiding louts (area boys) who disturb content creators whenever they are filming their skits.
He told Sunday Scoop, “The issue of hoodlums disturbing filmmakers and content creators while doing their jobs cannot be overemphasised. It seems they are being empowered by higher authorities because when one calls the police, we are told to ‘just give them something’; as that is how it is done’. The government needs to emplace laws that would stop such behaviors, and also make it known to the public. The harm those hoodlums cause could be fatal. We should not wait until lives are lost before doing something about it.”
The skit maker also stated that moving into his own house was the highlight of the year. He said, “One of my most memorable experiences (of 2022) was moving into my own house. It was fulfilling to design the house to my taste, and move into it at a time when building materials have become very expensive. I also got to work with some A-list actors, such as Patience Ozokwor (Mama G), Ngozie Ezeonu, and John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu.”
Aloma also admitted that being a content creator had changed his life. He said, “Skit making has obviously changed my life, as I am now a household name in the Nigerian comedy industry. I have worked with many A-list celebrities as well, and I have achieved financial success.”
