Actress and singer, Bukunmi Oluwasina, has said that she does not depend on anyone’s validation to be herself.
She told Sunday Scoop, “I don’t wait for people to commend me, before I give myself a pat on the back. People who know me know that I don’t depend on people’s validation. I actually listen to myself before I listen to others. It is what I say to myself that counts the most. If I am working hard and people are not acknowledging it, it does not change the fact that I am the best version of myself, because I never stop working on myself.”
Asked about her most memorable moment as an actor, she said, “That would be when my movie, Jankariwo, was nominated for two categories of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. It was a huge one for me, and I felt really proud of myself. I felt successful in my life of work; and not just as an actor. Most times, when I am nominated for awards, it is based on my work as an actor. A nomination for a movie I produced made me feel proud. I celebrated the nomination even though my I did not win.
